We all know it. There are often still a few pieces of vegetables in our refrigerator or other products that we have not used in a previous recipe. These often lie aimlessly in the refrigerator until they spoil. In this project we wanted to use Chat GPT 4o to recognize products from a photo and then search for related recipes in the Allerhande database.
When taking the photo, we wanted to give the user time to validate that the photo is correct. If not, the user has the option to recreate the photo. After taking the photo, the user has the option to select which products they want to use in the recipe via choice chips. Choice chips are simple pill-shaped UI elements that have a selected state and an unselected state. The customer can also quickly validate which products are recognized in the photo, and if a product has been forgotten, the customer can add it manually.
Just like in the normal Albert Heijn app, it is important that the customer has a personalized experience. By this I mean showing recipes that match the customer's personalized preferences. The customer can indicate which eating preferences, allergies, type of food and maximum preparation time she wants.
Then the results are shown. The initial goal was to also show how many of the selected products were in the recipes shown. I did this using a food icon on the photo with a number next to it. Unfortunately, due to the time pressure of the short MVP, this was not possible. But this will certainly be included in a future validation of the product.
